Tubbed. . .
When Hodgey said that he was going to have to 'tub' the rear, I thought that he had something smaller in mind. . . .???

Sparks are good. . .
Big push. . . the boys have finally managed to secure all the parts and finish their respective bike projects. Not a bad pair of scooters for the Summer ride to work?
Hodgey finishing off the grinding so the painter can get in and paint the tubs. Hodgey now moving on to the floor pans and cross bracing. . .

Rails modified and tubs in
Sheet metal work on the notched rails and tubs is sublime, an artist at work. This is why so many of Hodgey's 'cars' feature in Street Machine and Hot Rod mags.
Looking across the car you can see how much has been removed from the rail. All seams have been re-sealed and will now be sprayed with body deadener and painted the same color as the car and any modification will be near impossible to pick.

Moving along. . .
See what happens when you let the kids play in the shed. . .they turn the cars on their bloody rooves.
Cutting out the rails to allow the diff to be located higher up into the floor pan. We've decided to use cardboard instaed of steel to save on weight and allow extra flexibility into the sytem. Engineer was surprised but won over by our enthusiasm. . .
Hodgey working flat out trying to find the correct settings on the Mig welder for spot welding the cardboard cutouts into the rails.

Tubs are in. . .
Wheel tubs have been extended and are back in place. These tubs are hard to pick from original equipment. . .
Looking across the back of the van it's hard to see anything out of place. . .
Tubs look like they have just had a bit of rust repair, let alone adding 1 1/2inches of usable width to the tyres. . .
Engine bay is now sitting and waiting for its new tennant. Car has been visited by Engineer who has seen all design plans and OK'd every thing with only a couple of very minor additions.
He likes the concept and it's full steam ahead. . .
Steering wheel and column is gone and dash is to be modified with custom goodies. . .

Holey Be Geezus. . . .
Front floor sections removed for replacement.
Rear floor sections removed for replacement.
New floor sections arriving from Rare Spares.
Wheel tubs removed and new rims sitting in guards at correct ride height. These things look Phaat and the wagon is going to be slammed on its guts. . .
Dave checking out wheel placement inside the tubs. As can be seen from this angle, the mini tubs will provide 1 1/2inches of clearance to outside guard. . .
Inside the wagon showing the tubs removed and wheels new ride height inside tub. . .
This pic shows that with 3 1/2inch backspace the rims are still getting a minimum of 1inch of clearance to inner rails. You can't ask for any better than that. . .

Final Dismantle
Front end has also been removed along with all engine bay fittings. The steering column remains because it has to be modified to meet new requirements of being a collapsable unit. . .
Just a sneek peek at those magnificent rims sitting underneath AND at full ride height. This thing is going to look insane on the road. . . . . .
Amazingly those huge 18x8inch rims fit in the standard tubs! The car is still going to be mini-tubbed to allow for any extra clearance needed because it is also going to have full suspension travel. Deep dish on the rims looks tough as. . .

Where's the EH ? ? ?
Well the question on everyone's lips is quite simply, "What's happened to the EH?"
I just heard a pretty good rumor that Hodgey has had Dave spending a bit of time this week sharpening the teeth of the old 'gas-axe' and Tuesday is 'D-day' for the old EH, yep total floor removal. . .

Aussie V8 Forum
This is a link to the Aussie V8 forum where we've been holding a discussion about using the VE motor and gearbox as the power plant for Corey's EH wagon:

It's certainly turned up some interesting information and a couple of really nice ideas, for instance. . .paddle shifters for the auto?

Hodge Heaven. . .
Dave's Hog nearing completion. Rusting finish on Dave's bike proving to be popular with an old "Gasser" to be done in same finish.
Have a look at those monster rims, 18x14 giving plenty of bling appeal and a really tuff street look. Tail lamps are full LED units.
Mr Hodge's personal 'ride' coming along nicely. Hand crafted seat is not going to add much comfort, but ample padding on the owner should correct any imbalance?
Crazy Blog settings. . .
If anyone is interested, I just found out that the little yellow/brown simble at the end of each post is in fact a pencil, simple as that folks, a pencil. . . .all you have to do is click on said pencil and you can leave all the fan mail you like for this crazy build.
